The Salisbury University Model United Nations Club participates at a National Model United Nations conference every year, either in Washington, D.C. or New York City. Over the past several years, the club has represented Thailand, Pakistan, Argentina, Hungary, Palestine, and Côte d'Ivoire on various UN committees, including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Security Council. For its efforts, the club has earned multiple conference awards.
Throughout the academic year, the club holds weekly meetings to prepare for the conference. These meetings provide opportunities to learn about writing UN resolutions and about following UN committee procedures.
Students can have their Model UN Club membership and conference participation count for course credit if they are concurrently enrolled in POSC 415: The UN System.
The 成人抖阴Model UN Club is open to anyone interested in diplomacy, global politics, and international organizations. No past Model UN experience is necessary, but anyone with experience is highly encouraged to join. Contact Dr. Eric Rittinger (errittinger@salisbury.edu) for more information.
