Professional Licensure Programs
Professional licensure is required to pursue many professions and requirements can vary by state. Below is a list of licensure programs offered and current determination of in what states each program meets licensure requirements.
Salisbury University offers the following programs that meet the degree requirements for professional licensure in Maryland. In some cases, there exists reciprocity agreements between Maryland and other states. These agreements allow individuals who hold a professional license in one state to earn a license in another state, subject to meeting state-specific requirements. Most states have policies to extend reciprocity for certain licenses, but few states provide full reciprocity for all fully licensed professionals from other states. Click on the links below to view a licensure disclosure on each program.
Individuals may be able to graduate from one of SU's programs then go to another state and be eligible for licensure if they meet all of the other requirements besides the degree. This page represents the best information currently available to determine professional licensure requirements and reciprocity with SU's programs.

The Perdue School of Business’ Accounting program prepares students for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. The program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
All states, including Maryland, require a minimum of 150 credit hours of college education to fulfill the education requirements for obtaining a CPA license. Students can typically complete their Accounting degree and the specific course requirements for the CPA in the 120 credits required to earn the degree. Some states, including Maryland, allow students to take the CPA exam once they have completed 120 credit hours and their bachelor’s degree or higher, with a major or concentration in Accounting. However, since 150 credits are required to fulfill the education requirements for obtaining a CPA license, students must complete 30 credits beyond the specific course requirements to be licensed.
It is recommended that students contact their intended state's Board of Accountancy prior to beginning a program at SU, and meet with their advisor(s) at Salisbury University, to determine specific state or territory requirements. There may be additional requirements in other states that cannot be met in Maryland, or that could be met while you work on your degree at SU.
