Recycling Program
Salisbury University's diversion rate has been 48 to 50% in the past 12 years, higher than the Maryland Recycling Act's required 35%.
Since the Spring ’22 semester, the Recycling Program has been able to divert over 10 tons of gently used items through the Give & Go Donation Stations and Drive Thru Events. These items were donated to local resale shops.
Sammy's Stash, A Secondhand Shop is an appointment-only, free resource located in Dogwood Unit J opened in August 2024 for all 成人抖阴students and employees.
Salisbury University competes in the Campus Race to Zero Waste 8-week competition to showcase our diversion efforts nationally.
As of the Fall 2023, a new office recycling program is taking place across the campus to increase the recycling rates in office spaces. Pre- and post-waste audits have revealed that this program has increased our recycling rate by 25% in our office settings.
