Other Forms of Discrimination

Federal law protects various groups from discrimination. Each of these groups is known as a protected class, which share a characteristic that is protected by federal anti-discrimination law. Protected classes include: race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, familial status, disability, veteran status, and genetic information.

In order to promote equal working and learning opportunities and protect the well-being of its community members, the Salisbury University Policy Prohibiting Non-Sex Based Discrimination prohibits intimidation and harassment of any kind. Specifically, University policy prohibits harassment motivated by gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age and/or disability.
