Findings of Responsibility:Student Conduct/Providing False Information (p. 9)/Misrepresentation of Information A. - Students may not knowingly furnish false or misleading information to University or Law Enforcement officials.
Sanctions:
Probation: Probation effectively immediately through Fall 2019. Any further violations while on Probation may result in a student's suspension or dismissal from the University. A student will remain on disciplinary probation status, at least, through the date indicated or until the date all assigned sanctions have been completed, whichever occurs later.
Educational Requirement: The Chapter must provide training to all members, and executive members in particular, regarding the expectations for their behavior when acting on behalf of or in a manner that can be directly tied to the Chapter. This information must be built into the Chapter's ongoing new member and new executive member education efforts.
Suspension effective through Fall 2020
Findings of Responsibility: Student Accountability/Failure to Comply - Students are expected to follow the reasonable directions of University officials (including University Police, Faculty and/or Staff), law enforcement agents, emergency officials, or officials at other colleges and universities that are necessary for the proper conduct of the University and University community. Some examples of reasonable directions include, but are not limited to, providing identification when asked, attending meetings requested by Faculty or Staff members, complying with sanctions or conditions, and immediately and fully cooperating with University Officials, law enforcement, and emergency personnel in the completion of their duties.
Sanctions:
Suspension: Suspension from Salisbury University effective immediately through the end of the Fall 2020 semester.
Probation: If reinstated, the Chapter will be placed on Probation through Spring 2021. Probation notifies the Chapter that it must avoid any further violations of the Code of Community Standards for a specified period of time and includes the probability of more severe disciplinary sanctions, including revocation of its Charter, if it is found in violation of the Code of Community Standards during the probationary period. Organizations on probation are not in good standing with the University. However, the Chapter may result its normal operations, including participation in IFC and SUCAP.
Educational Requirement: Prior to eligibility for reinstatement, the Chapter will submit clearly define what steps they will take to ensure new leadership understands the roles, responsibilities and institutional guidelines in their designated roles. This requirement must be submitted to the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership and the Dean of Students Office by January 1st, at the latest, for approval and eligibility for Spring 2021 reinstatement.

Findings of Responsibility:
Student Accountability/Social Host Responsibility - The conduct of students living within the community directly reflects on the University. Students are expected to exercise good judgement, be sensitive to the needs of the local community, and take responsibility for the conduct of their guests. While the University has no interest in regulating what goes on in the privacy of a Student’s home, the University will become involved when otherwise private actions or behavior create a disruption or otherwise negatively impact the surrounding community, or has the potential to put the safety and well-being of others at risk. This includes, but is not limited to: Hosting events or gatherings where alcohol is available for underage students or guests, students who drink to excess or use illegal drugs, or any other violation of applicable laws and regulations related to alcohol and/or drugs; Damages caused to public or private property caused by Students or their guests; Hosting more guests than is reasonable for the type of residence, or which violates a fire code; and Any disruption caused by Students and their guests to the local community, including noise, impeding or blocking traffic, littering, public urination, to name a few.
Student Accountability/Violations of Other Policies and Regulations - As members of the University community, students are expected to comply with all applicable University and USM policies and regulations. Due to one’s different commitments and roles in the campus community, different policies and regulations may apply.

An organization will remain on disciplinary probation status, at least, through the date indicated or until the date all assigned sanctions have been completed, whichever occurs later.
Educational Requirement: The chapter will host an educational workshop (in person, if conditions allow) mandatory for all members to address, at a minimum: a) relevant University policies and regulations related to student and/or student organization behavior, b) any applicable COVID-19 risk mitigation considerations at the time, and c) risk management considerations when hosting social events, whether on or off-campus.
Educational Requirement: Complete by: Friday, September 24, 2021 Incoming chapter leadership (President and Vice President, at a minimum) is required to schedule an appointment with the Dean of Students Office and other relevant University staff following the delivery of the workshop to discuss whether learning outcomes were met, whether any additional education and awareness initiatives may be needed and/or any further opportunities for partnership with University departments to meet learning goals.

Probation notifies you that you must avoid further violations of the Code of Community Standards and Student Organization Standards for a specified period. Should Kappa Sigma be found responsible for a violation of either the Code of Community Standards or Student Organization Standards during the probationary period, the organization will be suspended for at least one full semester, and it includes the probability of more severe disciplinary sanctions, including a longer suspension or dismissal of the organization. Organizations on probation are not in good standing with the University; therefore, certain co-curricular activities may be prohibited to the organization while on probation. The organization will remain on disciplinary probation status, at least, through the date indicated or until the date all assigned sanctions have been completed, whichever occurs later.
