14-Year-Old is Youngest Student at 成人抖阴This Fall
SALISBURY, MD---For most 14-year-olds, this fall means the first year of high school. For Josh Bentley, however, fall means scheduling pre-medicine courses and preparing for his sophomore year in college.
The Berlin, MD, teenager is the youngest student to enter Salisbury University this August. He transfers from Missouri Southern State University, where he took courses during his senior year of high school. His family recently moved to the Eastern Shore this year when his father accepted a supervisory position at Assateague Island National Seashore.
Despite his youth, Bentley may end up a big man on campus. A fan and player of many sports, including football, soccer, baseball and lacrosse, he plans on attending many Sea Gull athletic events in the coming year. Majoring in pre-medicine, he sees few obstacles in succeeding at his second college campus.
“At my last college I fit in pretty well,” he said. “The only problem I have is that I can’t drive yet!”
Jane Dané, 成人抖阴dean of enrollment management, predicted good things for the young scholar: “Josh may not be your average-aged college student, but he certainly is prepared for the task. He comes here with 39 transfer credits and a high ACT score of 32.”
As a reward for his academic achievement, Bentley earned financial aid including the Provost and Guerrieri scholarships. He also receives a one-year Henson Scholarship.
Bentley is working this summer as a surveyor for L.A. Bunting Surveys in Berlin. He resides with his parents, Scott and Maryne.
