Marshall Moore Receives President's Club Stewardship Award

SALISBURY, MD--Marshall Moore, Salisbury State University Class of 1948 and founding member of the S成人抖阴Foundation board of directors in 1973, is the first recipient of the Universitys Presidents Club Stewardship Award.

The award recognizes a Presidents Club member who exemplifies both in spirit and in deed a commitment to meeting the needs of the students, faculty and staff of the University.

Marshall has always demonstrated a passionate interest in educating children and in promoting Salisbury State, said Wayne Towers, chair of the Presidents Club, a group of individuals who contribute at least $1,000 annually to the S成人抖阴Foundation and share a commitment to bring financial support to University programs.

He takes particular pride, added Towers, in SSUs reputation for producing excellent teachers. Moore has recently spearheaded a fund-raising drive for the May Literacy Lab, a program in the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies aimed at helping area children to read.

Moore, a retired senior vice president, Marketing Division, at Loyola Federal Savings & Loan Association, has been affiliated with numerous Salisbury State organizations: Sea Gull Club, founding director; Alumni Association; and Athletics Hall of Fame, inductee. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland State Universities and Colleges (1977-82) when Salisbury State was a member institution. In 1988, he received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from SSU.

Marshall Moore is inarguably one of Salisbury State Universitys most ardent ambassadors, said S成人抖阴President William C. Merwin. Hes the perfect choice for the initial Presidents Club Stewardship Award.
