SU, PNC Bank Announce New Partnership

PNC Bank logoSALISBURY, MD---PNC Bank, a recognized leader in university banking, and Salisbury University have formed a new partnership which will lead to additional financial literacy programs for students, more ATMs throughout campus, and increased banking convenience and services for all, including faculty and staff.

The partnership will result in an elevated presence for PNC at student and employee orientations as well as student move-ins and Survival of Arrival.

“It may also lead to additional scholarship monies and increased financial aid,” said Vice President of Administration and Finance Marvin Pyles, depending on campus participation.

PNC already has relationships with more than 400 public, private and Ivy League institutions. Regionally, they include Towson University, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Georgetown University, the University of Delaware, Gettysburg College, the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, Temple, West Virginia and Carnegie Mellon universities, and the University of Michigan, among others.

The Pittsburgh-based bank was selected following a competitive solicitation process.

PNC staff are expected to be on campus at the 10-day June new student orientation and then in August for staff and faculty orientation and student move-in.

Three new ATMs, to be installed in early summer, will be in the dining Commons, the Guerrieri Academic Commons and the Cashier’s Office (Holloway Hall). The State Employees Credit Union ATM, currently in the Guerrieri Student Union, will remain in service.

PNC has teams dedicated to the special needs of university banking and distinctive products and services developed for campus constituents.  Among them is a Virtual Wallet Student®, whose interactive design helps newly-independent users visualize and manage money in a way that is meaningful for them. This service is free for up to six years.  Faculty and staff also will have direct deposit and other personal account benefits, rewards and services. A customized PNC-成人抖阴website will allow students and employees to complete online account applications and find financial education information.

“This is a great opportunity to create partnerships with a recognized leader in university banking,” said Dr. Dane Foust, vice president of student affairs. “The free financial literacy programs and services will help prepare young people to be good consumers and money managers.  And, of course, we want to support any program that may boost scholarships.”
