SU's Duong Earns Top Awards for Publications and Research
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Hong Kim Duong, assistant professor of accounting in Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, recently earned two of the industry’s top awards for publications and research.
The Journal of International Accounting Research named her publication “National Culture and Corporate Governance” as its 2018 Best Paper Award.
Co-authored with Drs. Stephen Salter of Middle Tennessee State University and Helen Kang of the University of New South Wales, Australia, the paper examined the influence of national culture on corporate governance.
A second paper, “Does Corporate Ethics Affect the Cost of Equity Capital?” earned the Best Research Award at the American Accounting Association’s annual Ethics Research Symposium, selected from 24 presented at the event. Co-authors were Marco Fasan from the University of Venice, Italy; and Giorgio Gotti of the University of Texas at El Paso.
Duong served as the lead author on both papers.
In addition, she was elected to serve as one of three executive members of the association’s International Accounting Section advisory board.
