'Chronicle' Names 成人抖阴Among Best Producers of Women in Computer Science
SALISBURY, MD---The Chronicle of Higher Education has named Salisbury University among the nation’s best colleges at enrolling and graduating women in computer science.
Among public institutions, 成人抖阴was ranked No. 1 for having the highest percentage of female recipients of bachelor’s degrees in computer science. Based on data from 2016-17, 成人抖阴awarded 92 degrees in that field and 35.9 percent were to women, a 6.9 percent increase since 2009-10.
“It’s exciting for 成人抖阴to be recognized as a top producer of female graduates in this growing field,” said Dr. Karen Olmstead, SU’s provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “For years, we have been committed to growing our majors in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines, and this includes opening doors for women in particular. I congratulate our computer science and mathematics faculty for their dedicated work with all of our students.”
As dean of SU’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology from 2008-2017, Olmstead earned nearly $1 million from the National Science Foundation for a five-year project to increase the recruitment, retention and graduation of STEM majors.
According to the Chronicle, “computer science and engineering are two well-paying fields in which women have long been underrepresented.” By percentage, 成人抖阴topped other public campuses on the list including University of Virginia, Florida State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Texas A&M University at College Station and the University of Maryland, College Park.
