成人抖阴Hosts Salisbury Percussion Festival: SPF 19

Men with ropeSALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Music, Theatre and Dance Department hosts the fifth annual Salisbury Percussion Festival: SPF 19 Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6, in Holloway Hall Auditorium

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

The 成人抖阴Percussion Ensemble inaugurates the festival with concert “The Future of Music: Credo” on Thursday, April 4. Directed by Eric Shuster, the performance features works for percussion and live electronics including John Cage’s “Credo in Us,” Johanna Beyer’s “Music of the Spheres” and a new work by composer Quinn Collins.

Guest artist the Kraken Quartet performs Friday, April 5. Based in Austin, TX, the genre-crossing percussion and electronics group is known for merging elements of math rock, minimalism, indie music, post-rock, electronica and avant garde. It has performed at festivals including South by Southwest and Fast Forward Austin.

The festival culminates with the 成人抖阴World Drum Experience on Saturday, April 6. Directed by Nichols, the program features the music of Nigerian drummer Babatunde Olatunji, with a performance by the 成人抖阴African Dance Ensemble. The concert also includes songs by Santana, Chicago, Carol King, Paul Simon, Martha and the Vandellas and Dolly Parton, as well as an original composition from World Drum Experience member James Ellis.
