'Water as a Universal Religious Symbol' Lecture

WaterSALISBURY, MD---Dr. Paul Hardy of discusses “Water as a Universal Religious Symbol” 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in Room 153 of Salisbury University’s Conway Hall.

Hardy explores examples of water in religious rite and ritual, starting with the creation narrative of Genesis. He also demonstrates how water is used to bring believers back to the moment of creation, first in Christianity then in Islam, in which the vision of creation occurs not in the past but in every moment. Allusions also are made to other religious traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Sponsored by the Fulton Public Humanities Committee, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6245 or visit the 成人抖阴website at www.salisbury.edu.
