SALISBURY, MD---The Edward H. Nabb Center for Delmarva History and Culture at Salisbury University is one of the preeminent repositories of historical items on the Eastern Shore.

As the U.S. continues to see growing public demonstrations in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, the Nabb Center hopes to capture “history in the making” by collecting materials to preserve how the movement is being expressed on the Eastern Shore.

Digital photos and videos have been shared with the center, and more are welcome. Nabb officials also hope to capture the voice of the movement, including journals, speech transcriptions and documentation of proposed reforms made by community members or local leaders.

The Nabb collection will allow future generations to look back on this time and movement without needing to rely on news media alone, said Ian Post, the center’s local history archivist. The project fits with the center’s mission of telling the story of the people of the Delmarva Peninsula, he added.
