SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) hosts the lecture “The Rhetoric of Presidential Inauguration Addresses: A Comparison of the Inauguration Speeches Through History” 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, in a virtual format.
Dr. Paul Scovell, assistant professor of communication, analyzes the important, memorable and infamous inaugural speeches through American history. He examines speeches from George Washington through Joe Biden to understand the catchphrases and promises made by newly elected presidents.
