成人抖阴Hosts Fall Advocacy Skills Seminar Series

MicrophoneSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts the lecture series “Mobilizing for Change: Building Your Advocacy Skills” 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays this fall, beginning October 5.

The opening virtual session is “Creating Justice Together: Using Participatory Research Approaches to Respond to Intimate Partner Violence” with Dr. Nkiru Nnawulezi, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Future sessions include:

  • October 12 in Devilbiss Hall Room 123 – “Social Science Research and Social Change: Examples from Equity Movements” with Dr. Brian Smedley, equity scholar at the Urban Institute
  • October 19 via Zoom – “Voting is Empowerment: Scaling Up Your Voter Engagement” with Alberto Cifuentes, doctoral student at the University of Connecticut
  • October 26 in Devilbiss Hall Room 123 – “Effective Communication with Policymakers in Divisive Times” with Michael Merrifield, former Colorado state senator
  • November 2 in Devilbiss Hall Room 123 – “Asset Mapping and Citizen Science” with Jan-Michael Archer, doctoral student at the University of Maryland College Park
  • November 9 via Zoom – “Playing Chess: Strategies for Effective Social Justice and Change Management” with Shaunna Payne Gold of Gold Enterprises
  • November 16 in Devilbiss Hall Room 123 – “Sharing Your Expertise with the Public: An Introduction to Op-Ed Writing” with Sarah Mancoll, policy director for the Society of Psychological Study of Social Issues
  • November 30 in Devilbiss Hall Room 123 – “Identifying and Responding to Microaggressions” with Dr. Allessia Owens-King, 成人抖阴assistant professor of social work
  • December 7 via Zoom – “How to Change the World in Two Minutes” with Jean-Marie Navetta of PFLAG National
