Fulton Public Humanities Series at 成人抖阴Continues with Filmmaker, Author Magnason

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s fall Fulton Public Humanities Program continues with a documentary screening, discussion and lecture by filmmaker Andri Snær Magnason Monday-Tuesday, October 23-24.

Magnason, an award-winning author and activist, screens his documentary “Dreamland,” followed by a discussion, 7 p.m. Monday, October 23, in the Herman van Apeldoorn Film Center, Fulton Hall Room 111. He presents a lecture addressing environmental degradation through the lens of Icelandic myth, journalism, climate science and personal memoir 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Magnason’s film critiques the Icelandic government’s decision to dam the country’s rivers to power aluminum smelting plants. The documentary, like his previous works, raises the questions as to how much unspoiled nature should be preserved and whether natural beauty is worth sacrificing in the pursuit of renewable energy.
