Thomas Polk, Buffalo Soldiers Eastern Shore History Lecture at 成人抖阴February 21

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture looks back at Thomas Polk and his connection to the Eastern Shore during the lecture “Thomas Polk and the Buffalo Soldiers; Living History in Allen, Maryland” 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, in Conway Hall Room 156.

After a decade of service as a Buffalo Soldier in the American West, Thomas Polk, a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 9th Cavalry, returned home to Wicomico County to build a new life for himself. Deborah Scott, a descendant of Polk, presents a brief history of the Buffalo Soldiers and shares an ongoing community effort to create a living history site on lands purchased by Thomas Polk in the village of Allen, MD. 

Admission is free and the public is invited.
