Lecture on Bosnia's Cultural Heritage at 成人抖阴February 26
SALISBURY, MD---The diverse history and heritage of Bosnia is the topic of Salisbury University’s next Fulton Public Humanities lecture, “Between East and West: Bosnia’s Culture Heritage,” 6 p.m. Monday, February 26, in Conway Hall Room 156.
Situated at the crossroads of two major civilizations and empires – Ottoman and Habsburg – Bosnia and Hercegovina developed its own unique cultural traditions. This culture drew on the imperial and cultural centers of Vienna and Istanbul, but adapted these emanations to the local setting. The once imperial legacy of a diverse and multicultural society lived on in Bosnia, though increasingly strained by modern nationalist projects.
Cazim Hadzimejlic, professor at the Academy of Fine Art Sarajevo, brings to light this cultural heritage, with a specific focus on its aesthetic dimension, which evokes a more open-minded and diverse world.
Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information visit the Fulton Public Humanities webpage.
Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.
