SU, Maryland Army National Guard Sign Educational Partnership Agreement

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University students and members of the Maryland Army National Guard (MDARNG) can now partner for educational benefits thanks to a recent mutual support and collaboration agreement.
The agreement centers on the development of an enduring academic and mentorship partnership program with SU’s College of Health and Human Services. Both organizations will benefit from enhanced collaboration opportunities, including 成人抖阴student and faculty attendance at the MDARNG Annual Medical Symposium, mutual recruitment and furthering education opportunities, and establishing a pipeline for MDARNG involvement on campus, including special events, inactive duty and annual training, the potential for guest speakers and participation in campus events.
“The Maryland National Guard has a long history of protecting our communities and serving our nation with honor and valor,” said 成人抖阴President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “Similarly, Salisbury University takes pride in its commitment to excellence in education and its contributions to the betterment of society.
“The agreement we are signing today reaffirms our commitment to supporting those who serve and together we embark on a journey that holds great promise for our collective future.”
“The Maryland National Guard is part of the Eastern Shore Community,” said Maj. Gen. Janeen L. Birckhead, adjutant general for Maryland. “We were partners in the community during COVID-19 response. Now, we'll partner with Salisbury University's College of Health and Human Services investing our medical professionals, labs, and training in the next generation of medical professionals.”
This isn’t the first partnership between the organizations, as 成人抖阴is among the 40 members of MDARNG’s Partners in Education Program that offer state tuition waivers and state tuition assistance reimbursement benefits to service members.
The Maryland Army National Guard has 4,600 soldiers and 1,500 combat platforms located at 45 installations statewide. The majority of the force serves part-time training to serve their community during natural disasters or other state emergencies and to be ready to deploy overseas to protect the nation. Opportunities include over 130 career paths including innovative work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
