21st 成人抖阴Multicultural Festival Week Scheduled April 25-30

Multi Cultural Festival SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates its 21st annual Multicultural Festival Week, Monday-Saturday, April 25-30.

Activities begin with the Student Government Association’s annual Multicultural Showcase 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, in Holloway Hall Auditorium. Performers include the Organization for Latin American Students, African Student Association and Untouchables Dance, Inc., among others. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Tuesday’s events begin with a special “flash mob” on Red Square at noon, with music, games, chalking and refreshments. At 7 p.m., the program “Teach Me How To…” exposes students to a variety of skills and topics in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. Activities include a cooking demonstration, foreign languages and dance classes, Chinese calligraphy, “kinks and curls” hair demonstrations and special presentations from the Housing Diversity Committee.

Wednesday, April 27, is Multicultural Festival Day. This year’s theme is “Fly With Multicultural … the World Awaits.” Activities are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Pergola (rain location: Wicomico Room). Performers include the Steel Kings Jamaican steel drum band, Mystic Warriors, Music from Bolivia, the Prince Street Elementary School Step Team and Amadou Kouyate, an ethnomusicologist and griot (oral historian) from Senegal and a descendant of the Kouyate clan. 成人抖阴clubs and organizations host educational table displays during the event.

That evening, from 4:30-7:30 p.m., University Dining Services and the Cultural Affairs Office host a “Flavors of the Caribbean Islands” dinner with the Steel Kings in the Commons. The menu includes crab cakes with Caribbean coconut curry sauce, Jamaican jerk chicken wings, pigeon peas and rice, grilled corn with lime butter, Caribbean-style greens, coconut tres leches cake and Jamaican sweet potato pudding. cost is $12.48, $7.57 for children ages 5 and under. Reservations are not required.

SU’s annual President’s Diversity Awards ceremony continues the week’s events 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

The Multicultural Student Services Office’s 25th annual senior banquet is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in the Commons. Students from diverse backgrounds are recognized for their accomplishments. Admission is by invitation only.

Multicultural Festival Week concludes that evening with a performance by the 成人抖阴Gospel Choir at 6 p.m. in the Wicomico Room.
