Thursday September 9, 2004
SALISBURY, MD---Fun Day 2004—Explore Salisbury University is for everyone, including kids! From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, September 18, on the 成人抖阴campus, children are invited to participate in dozens of activities from karaoke to finding your home on a computer at 20,000 feet! 成人抖阴student Tyler Patton is Fun Day coordinator. Below are his favorite five: Inflatables: Jump around a Moon Bounce or test your skill along an obstacle course. Pot party: Join your parents in sculpting your own kiln-fired clay pot on a spinning potter’s wheel, sponsored by the 成人抖阴Art Department. Sports clinics: Play with the big kids to strengthen your basketball and field hockey skills with SU’s varsity teams. Fire and Ice: Come blow stuff up with the 成人抖阴 Chemistry Department! Demonstrations involve fireballs and explosions. Then cool off with ice cream made in a matter of minutes with a little help from liquid nitrogen. Decoy carving: Think you could be the next Lem or Steve Ward? Find out as the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art presents decoy carving with child-safe tools. Ward officials instructed children from across the country in similar carving techniques during last summer’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C. A hayride connects events between buildings. Come to the Fun Day Green by Henson Science Hall. If it rains, activities move indoors to Henson Hall and Maggs Physical Activities Center. All Fun Day events are free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the 成人抖阴Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
