Henson School Offers Two Lectures on Science Careers

Salisbury, MD---For science majors, today’s world provides countless career choices.

That’s the message that two Ph.D. candidates from the University of Texas share with students in Salisbury University’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology next week.

Barrett Klein explores “Colossal Viruses, Imitation Dung Balls and Robotic Frogs: Alternative approaches to applying a Science Education” on Tuesday, October 6.  Karin Akre speaks on “Creative Science Career Paths” on Thursday, October 8. Both lectures are 4 p.m. in Henson Hall Room 243.

Klein and Akre currently collaborate with Ryan Taylor of SU’s Biological Sciences Department on research projects in animal behavior and evolutionary biology. Taylor said they also have diverse backgrounds in art, museum design, science consulting and textbook editing.

“Their seminars will provide insights on their research and information to our students on the diversity of career opportunities available to science majors,” Taylor said.

Sponsored as part of the Henson Seminar Series, the talks are free and the public is invited. Refreshments are served at 3:30 p.m., prior to both lectures. For more information call 410-543-6489 or visit the 成人抖阴Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
