Kotlowski Inaugurates Brown Bag Series September 20

SALISBURY, MD---Chronicling any life has its ups and downs, as Dr. Dean Kotlowski, author of the critically acclaimed book Nixon’s Civil Rights: Politics, Principle and Policy (2001, Harvard University Press), has recently discovered.

Kotlowski, history faculty in Salisbury University’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, inaugurates SU’s fall Brown Bag Lunch Discussion Series with “Agony and Ecstasy: the Challenges and Joys of Writing Biography” at noon Wednesday, September 20, in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall.

The author spent the past year as a visiting professor at Indiana University and is currently writing a biography of Paul V. McNutt, a onetime presidential candidate and high official in the administration of another controversial president, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Kotlowski has lectured at the Nixon Library and appeared on National Public Radio, CSPAN2 and CBS Radio’s The Osgood File. Sponsored by the Fulton School, his discussion is free and the public is invited. Light refreshments are provided.
