'Light and Shadow' Exhibit Opens Friday, February 27
Tuesday February 10, 2004
SALISBURY, MD---Local nature photographers Rita Tiso and Dave Ganoe exhibit their works in “Light & Shadow: Nature’s Narrative” opening Friday, February 27, at the Atrium Gallery in the Guerrieri University Center at Salisbury University. An opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Tiso’s love of nature and intimate knowledge of flowers sprang from the many years she gardened with her father. With a background in fashion and window design, she brings a unique perspective to her photography work. Ganoe’s appreciation of nature is a consequence of time spent in the wilderness. Like Tiso, he uses the nuances of light and shadow to create different perspectives of nature in his work. Both artists use the lens as a means of profound communication with nature and hope their images help others develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of their own places in nature. They have traveled extensively and trained under several notable contemporary photographers, including Richard Newman, Rod Dresser, George DeWolfe and Les McLean. Both also have ties to SU. Tiso is employed as a photography laboratory assistant in the Art Department, and Ganoe is the retired director of the Guerrieri Center. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. The free exhibit hangs through Friday, April 9. The public is cordially invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the 成人抖阴Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
