Pulitzer Prize-Winning Novelist Jones Speaks at 成人抖阴Tuesday, October 2

The Known WorldSALISBURY, MD---Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edward P. Jones reads from his works as part of Salisbury University’s fall Writers-on-the-Shore series 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

Jones won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for his 2003 New York Times bestseller The Known World. The novel weaves together the lives of freed and enslaved African-Americans, Caucasians and Native Americans in antebellum Virginia to provide a deeper understanding of the multidimensional world created by the institution of slavery. The book also earned the National Book Critics Circle Award, International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and Lannan Literary Award.

Jones is also known for his compilations of short stories. His first, Lost in the City, won the PEN/Hemingway Award and was nominated for the National Book Award. His second, All Aunt Hagar’s Children, was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award.

Jones has earned a prestigious MacArthur Fellowship for creativity and taught fiction writing at several universities, including Princeton.
