Rock 4 Relief Concert toAid Hurricane Victims September 23

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University brings students and the community together to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina during Rock 4 Relief, a five-band concert in Red Square 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, September 23.

class=""MsoNormal"">Four local rock bands join national headliner Duenow to raise money for the American Red Cross. Donations will be taken during the show.

class=""MsoNormal"">Comprised of husband-and-wife team Zach and Dorothea Duenow, the headline act released its first album, If You Could Only See What They Are Doing to You, in 2003. Its next album, Draft LP, is scheduled for release this fall by UFO Music. A mix of rock, folk, rap, electronica, psychedelic, country, island, lounge, and be-bop, Duenow’s sound has been likened to a cross between Woodie Guthrie and Johnny Rotten.

class=""MsoNormal"">Rolling Stone calls the duo “amazing” and says “nothing out there sounds like it.” Paul Barile of The Lerner Paper calls the band’s sound “the most refreshing deconstruction of popular music I have heard in a long time.”

class=""MsoNormal"">Joining Duenow are local bands Tron, Autumn Place, Dash 8 and The Making. Sponsored by the Student Organization for Activity Planning and Event Services, the concert is free and the public is invited.
