SGA Hosts Homecoming Week October 13-18
SALISBURY, MD---From a battle of the bands and wing-eating contest to a parade and block party, Salisbury University’s Student Government Association rallies the campus during Homecoming Week.
Events begin with a pageant 7 p.m. Monday, October 13, in Holloway Hall Auditorium. A pep rally is 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, in Maggs Physical Activities Center.
The annual Homecoming Week Battle of the Bands is 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, in Red Square, preceded by a wing-eating contest at 4:30 p.m. Signup information is available at .
Music and a trivia game show take center stage during “Ninteez” Night 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, in the Gull's Nest of the Guerrieri University Center (GUC). A Big Six Cookout begins at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, at Sea Gull Square Lawn. The musical improvisational comedy troupe Baby Wants Candy performs at 7:30 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
Activities culminate Saturday, October 18, beginning with a parade on Wayne Street at 11 a.m. The SGA’s annual Homecoming block party follows from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Intramural Fields. Untouchables Dance, Inc. performs 4 p.m. at Henson Lawn. A multicultural jazz reception is 4:30-7 p.m. at the Gull's Nest.
Entertainment continues with a step show in Holloway Hall Auditorium at 7 p.m. Students can play Bangin’ Bingo from 7-8 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of the GUC. A Homecoming dance concludes the week’s festivities at 10 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the GUC.
Homecoming Week activities are sponsored by the SGA; Union of African-American Students; Student Organization for Activity Planning; Untouchables Dance, Inc; National Pan Hellenic Council; and SU’s NAACP chapter.
