SSO Honors Bowden for Decade of Service
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra (SSO) at Salisbury University has honored Derek T. Bowden for a decade of service. Bowden served as managing director of the SSO from 2003-2013. He also was a full-time faculty member in the Music Department.
At the orchestra’s winter concert, Conductor Jeffrey Schoyen, on behalf of the advisory board, thanked Bowden for his time, his diligent efforts to make the orchestra financially sound and his continued support of the organization.
In appreciation, Bowden was presented with a hand-printed serigraph of SU’s Holloway Hall, where the orchestra performs.
The silkscreen print was created by graphic artist, screen printer and advisory board member Erick Sahler of Erick Sahler Serigraphs.
Bowden is now the management associate for accreditation and education services at the National Association of Schools of Music.
