成人抖阴Environmental Colloquium Series Continues Oct. 14
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s fall Environmental Studies Colloquium Series continues with the “The Value of Changes in Water Quality to Recreational Fishermen of the Chesapeake Bay” by Matt Massey on Wednesday, September 23.
All presentations in the series are 7 p.m. in Henson Science Hall Room 243 unless otherwise noted.
Massey is an economist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Center for Environmental Economics. His research has been published in scholarly periodicals including Resource and Energy Economics, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics.
Upcoming presentations in the series, scheduled select Wednesdays during the semester, include:
• October 14 – “Recycling the Elements of Life: Nitrogen, Carbon and a Few Good Words” with former Maryland state biologist Nick Carter and poet Catherine Carter
• October 21 – “The Appalachian Trail: Then and Now” with 成人抖阴environmental studies program specialist Bill Nelson and student Ian Harrison
• November 4 – “Choptank: Portrait of a Chesapeake River” with author and 成人抖阴environmental studies lecturer Tom Horton, photographer Dave Harp, and Tom Fisher of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
• November 18 – “Environmentally Responsible Farming on the Eastern Shore — Possibilities and Problems” with Horton and Russ Brinsfield, grain farmer; mayor of Vienna, MD; and recently retired director of the Harry R. Hughes Center for Agro-Ecology at the University of Maryland, College Park
• December 2 – “One in Seven Billion.” Introduction to Sustainability course students share the results of their month-long effort to make a change in their personal environmental footprint. (Note: This presentation is in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.)
