成人抖阴Hosts Family Weekend October 31-November 1

SALISBURY, MD---From the athletic fields to the stage, students share their talents with parents, siblings and other relatives during Salisbury University’s 2008 Family Weekend, Friday-Sunday, October 31-November 2.

Activities begin with the Family Weekend Challenge, a parent-student golf outing 11 a.m. Friday at Nutters Crossing Golf Course. Registration is $75 per two-person team.

Families bringing little ones to campus on Halloween need not worry about missing traditional hometown festivities. From 6-8 p.m., 成人抖阴presents a Family Weekend Fall Festival at the Scarborough Leadership Center, complete with trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating and inflatables.

Broadway actress Jennifer Hope Wills returns to her Alma Mater to speak with theatre students about preparing for and entering the world of professional theatre 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.  She gives a brief performance, followed by an Inside the Actors’ Studio-like question-and-answer session with audience participation, hosted by Dr. Paul Pfeiffer, director of 成人抖阴Theatre. Wills has starred on Broadway as Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera, performed with Brooke Shields in Wonderful Town and as Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

The Family Weekend Showcase follows at 8 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium. Inspired by American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, 成人抖阴students become the stars in this variety show.

Tours of SU’s new Teacher Education and Technology Center kick off Saturday’s events every two hours from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Brunch with 成人抖阴President Janet Dudley-Eshbach and the University’s vice presidents and deans is Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Commons. Admission is $10, $5 for children 6-12, free for children 5 and under. Students may use their meal plans to attend.

成人抖阴football takes on Wesley College 1 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium. Admission is $5, $3 for non-成人抖阴students, $2 for children ages 12 and under. 成人抖阴ID holders receive one ticket free. Family members may purchase discount tickets for $3 with the presentation of an 成人抖阴ID at the Information Desk of the Guerrieri University Center until 11 a.m. on game day.

SU’s Parent and Family Association hosts a post-game reception at 4 p.m. Saturday on the Henson Science Hall Lawn, priming taste buds for Dining Services’ annual Recipes From Home Dinner 5-7:30 p.m. at the Commons. The 成人抖阴Theatre Department presents a radio-style reading of Our Town during the dinner. Admission to the event, featuring recipes submitted by students’ families, is $9.97, $6.06 for children 6-12, free for children 5 and under.

Family Weekend activities culminate with a jazz brunch 10 a.m.-1 p.m featuring the band “Elvis Who?” . Sunday in the Commons. Admission is $10, $5 for children 6-12, free for children 5 and under. Students may use their meal plans to attend.
