成人抖阴Hosts 'Marjorie Prime' at Rehoboth Beach Film Festival November 10
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University helps celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival by hosting a screening of the critically acclaimed Marjorie Prime 8 p.m. Friday, November 10, in Lewes, DE.
The film is introduced by Dr. Maarten Pereboom, dean of SU’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts.
Directed by Michael Almereyda and based on the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play by Jordan Harrison, the movie stars Lois Smith as 86-year-old Marjorie, who spends her final, ailing days with a computerized version of her deceased husband, intending to recount their lives together.
Things get complicated when family members, on whose information the computer relies to develop a more complex understanding of the couple’s history, begin to develop diverging recounts of their lives, drawn into the chance to reconstruct the often painful past.
The cast includes Jon Hamm, Geena Davis and Tim Robbins. Music is by Mica Levi (Jackie) and cinematography by Sean Price Williams (Good Time).
The Washington Post lauded Marjorie Prime: “As a sly chamber piece, it reassures and unsettles in equal, exquisitely calibrated measure. Viewers are left with the Faulknerian sense that, one day, the past won’t just be alive; it won’t even be past at all.”
The Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival offers American and international features, documentaries and short films. It is the oldest and largest film festival of its kind in the State of Delaware.
This year’s festival is Thursday-Sunday, November 2-12, in Delaware. For tickets and information visit www.rehobothfilm.com/festival.html.
