Treble ClefSALISBURY, MD---Four Salisbury University music students recently advanced to the National Association for the Teaching of Singers’ (NATS’) mid-Atlantic regional auditions, following state auditions at Towson University. They are:

  • Leah Wilson of Salisbury - first place, junior/senior women’s musical theatre

They each received a score of 25 or better out of a possible 30 points at the state auditions.

At the regional auditions, Wilson and Wixted both placed third in their categories, giving them the opportunity to compete at the inaugural national NATS auditions, scheduled at the organization’s annual conference in Boston this July.

In addition, Dylan Gregg, a junior at Parkside High School, member of the Wicomico High School Vocal and Performing Arts Program and student of John Wesley Wright of SU’s Music Department, received honors at the state auditions and second place at the mid-Atlantic regional event in the junior/senior musical theatre category.

At the auditions, students are judged on stage presence, tone production, diction, artistic impression and overall presentation.
