Students Perform 'The Vagina Monologues' February 15-16
SALISBURY, MD---As part of the global V-Day movement to end violence against women and girls, Salisbury University presents its 6th annual production of The Vagina Monologues 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, February 15-16, in the Wicomico Room of Guerrieri University Center.
成人抖阴senior Emily Jablonski directs Eve Ensler’s award-winning play, which is based on more than 200 interviews of diverse groups of women from around the world. Ensler explores the taboo subject of violence against women with hilarity and heartbreak.
The cast includes 成人抖阴students Mieke Gentis, Laurel Noone, Sarah Wells, Cynthia Perez, Dayna Jost, Linda Rivera, Megan Murray, Alicia Canzanese, Camilla Morrison, Shanice Jones, Sara Sutton, Alyssa Mullins, Katie Stojinski, Gillian Babb, Casey Williams, Danielle Sanford and Rebecca Anderson.
For the past 10 years, the international V-Day campaign has raised funds and awareness through benefit productions of The Vagina Monologues. Last year, the V-Day campaign at 成人抖阴was one of more than 3,000 held throughout the world. Performed in over 40 countries and translated into some 35 languages, Monologues is a daring and intricate balance of Ensler’s vision, compassion and brutally honesty exploration.
All proceeds from the 成人抖阴production benefit Salisbury’s Life Crisis Center, a non-profit agency for victims of abuse. During the past five years, 成人抖阴alone has raised more than $15,000 for the center.
Sponsored by the Diversity Office, the production is part of Women’s History Month activities. Admission is $6. Doors open at 7 p.m. Used cell phones will be collected to be distributed to victims of abuse for use as 911 emergency phones.
