SALISBURY, MD---U.S. News & World Report today named Salisbury University one of its Best Colleges for 2013. This marks the 16th consecutive year the campus has been ranked by the magazine.

“At Salisbury University, award-winning faculty and dedicated staff help attract and support outstanding students from across the U.S. and around the world,” said Dr. Diane Allen, ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõprovost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “This recognition is a testament to their efforts.  We are very proud that ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõhas again been ranked among the top public regional universities in the North.”

The 625 universities in the Best Regional Universities category are split among four geographic areas—North, South, Midwest and West. In the northern region, ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõranked 47 among 181 publics and privates.

³ÉÈ˶¶Òõalso is one of the Top Public Regional Universities in the North. Other institutions in this top 10 include The College of New Jersey, SUNY—Geneseo and Rutgers.

U.S. News uses several criteria to measure academic quality including academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, financial resources, faculty resources, student selectivity and alumni giving.

Last month, The Princeton Review named ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõone of its Best 377 Colleges for the 14th consecutive year.  ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõis also one of its 220 Best Northeastern Colleges.

The Princeton Review’s list is compiled through a combination of statistical analysis, campus visits and student surveys. Its rankings represent the top 15 percent of colleges and universities, both public and private, in the nation.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance also has named ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõamong its Top 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges” for the fourth consecutive year.
