'Waste Land' Returns to 成人抖阴Monday, February 4
SALISBURY, MD---The 2010 Sundance Film Festival award-winning documentary Waste Land returns to 成人抖阴7 p.m. Monday, February 4.
Filmed over a three-year period, this movie follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the world’s largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho. There, he photographs an eclectic band of “catadores” — self-designated pickers of recyclable materials — who begin to re-imagine their lives while creating images of themselves out of trash.
The Academy Award-nominated film received the Audience Award for Best World Cinema Documentary at Sundance and quickly became a top choice on the independent film circuit. It earned additional honors at the Berlin Film Festival and International Environmental Film Fest, among others. Its first 成人抖阴screening took place last semester as part of the Brazilian Groove Film Series.
Waste Land is a New York Times “Critics’ Pick.” The New York Post calls it “fascinating.” The Los Angeles Times hails it as “profoundly moving” and “a beautiful film.”
