Education Faculty Make Presentations For New Jersey Reading Association
SALISBURY, MD--The Salisbury State University Education Department was well represented at this year’s 27th annual conference of the State of Maryland International Reading Association (SoMIRAC) held in Towson in March.
Dr. Carolyn M. Bowden, associate professor of education, and graduate assistant Ceilidh Hughes conducted a workshop session on "Creative Reading and Writing in the Classroom," a HyperStudio software demonstration. Dr. Amy S. Meekins, associate professor, and Dr. Starlin Weaver, assistant professor, conducted a session on "Exploring Children’s Literature Through Creative Dramatics."
"Writing IN, Writing THROUGH, and Writing WITH Picture Books" was the title of a workshop conducted by John T. Wolinski, professor, and Dr. Patricia O. Richards, associate professor, and Dr. Debra H. Thatcher, assistant professor.
