PACE Co-Hosts 'Community Conversations on Race' in June
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) and Tri Community Mediation host three “Community Conversations on Race” presentations in June.
Film screenings and panel discussions are scheduled:
• Monday, June 4 – Greater Salisbury Committee office, 200 W. Main St., 4:30-6 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 5 – Charles H. Chipman Cultural Center, 325 Broad St., 5:30-7 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 12 – Fulton Hall Room 111, SU, 6-7:30 p.m.
For several months, small groups of participants in the Salisbury area have met for 25 hours each for discussions about race, facilitated by Tri Community Mediation. Their conversations have been described as tough, funny, awkward, poignant, frustrating and eye-opening.
During these presentations, participants discuss the experience following a short documentary on the initiative and information about how those attending may become part of the dialog.
Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-677-5045 or visit the PACE website at www.salisbury.edu/pace.
