Sponsored by Delmarva Power, the $1,000 prize was an incentive in the program, through which CFES provided a single platform for donors to contribute to area non-profit organizations on “Giving Tuesday.” The unofficial holiday, encouraging charitable giving, traditionally is celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

“As the home of WSCL 89.5 FM Fine Arts and Culture, and WSDL 90.7 FM Rhythm and News, Delmarva Public Radio is proud to contribute to the culture of the peninsula,” said Dana Whitehair, DPR general manager. “We are thrilled that the community saw fit to give back on Giving Tuesday, making us the No. 1 organization for funds raised in Wicomico County.”

In all, DPR received $3,594 from the CFES program, plus an additional $532.50 in direct online donations. Combined with the $1,000 prize, the stations raised more than $5,000 through the one-day campaign.
