During the course of the day, the University has experienced falling limbs and branches around campus due to the weight of the snow. University Police is advising pedestrians to use safety when walking near snow covered trees. Continue to be cautious during this winter storm.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Wicomico, Somerset and Dorchester counties from 7 p.m. tonight through 7 p.m. Saturday. Snow accumulations of four to six inches are expected, with higher amounts possible.
At this point, the situation is fluid and predictions vary. Currently, all University weekend activities are set to continue as scheduled, but that could change. Please monitor the 成人抖阴website for any modifications to University operations and local media for weather updates.
To help facilitate snow removal, any 成人抖阴students parked on main campus are asked to start moving their vehicles to the Wayne Street parking garage at 5 p.m. tonight.
According to NWS’ most recent prediction, a mixture of rain and snow will change to all snow this evening. Rain may briefly mix back in late tonight. Moderate to heavy wet snow is expected. Freezing temperatures and conditions are forecast Saturday evening into Sunday morning, with wind gusts up to 29 MPH on Sunday.
Drivers should be prepared for slippery road conditions and reduced visibility at times. Those who must travel should keep flashlights, food and water in their vehicles in case of emergencies.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for southeast Maryland, including Wicomico County.
A mix of rain and snow is expected late today into tonight. A slushy accumulation is possible on colder or grassy surfaces. On Saturday, December 9, a mix of rain and snow is expected with similar accumulation possible. Roads likely will remain mainly wet.
For those traveling, the NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for other parts of Maryland. On the Mid- and Upper Eastern Shore it extends from 7 p.m. tonight until 7 p.m. Saturday. One to three inches of snow is expected, with the heaviest accumulation between midnight and noon Saturday. In the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, it runs midnight-4 p.m. Saturday, with two to four inches expected.
Travelers should expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
