Hawkins Appointed to Commission
SALISBURY, MD -- Gains Hawkins, assistant vice president of university advancement at Salisbury University, was recently appointed to serve on the Commission on Communications and Marketing for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), which is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Hawkins, who has worked in the Public Relations Office at 成人抖阴for 23 years, was one of 24 professionals selected from a pool of more than 200 candidates nationwide to serve on the CASE commission.
The commission provides leadership and guidance on a host of issues affecting educational advancement, including the development of CASE's core curriculum and campaign standards, revising the Circle of Excellence Awards program, establishment of research and benchmarking measures, and identification of new product and service offerings.
Hawkins' responsibilities at 成人抖阴encompass advertising, media relations, publications, sports information and the campus' Copy Center. He works closely with the Admissions and Development offices devising recruitment and fund-raising strategies respectively.
Also, Governor Parris Glendening recently appointed him to the State of Maryland's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. An active fund-raiser for the local chapter of the American Lung Association he is a member of the Smoke Free Maryland Communications Workgroup. He is a member of Wicomico County's Sheriff's Advisory Committee and Tourism Advisory Committee.
Hawkins lives in Salisbury with his wife, Holly, and he has four children: Liz, 23, Ben, 15, Marti, 12, and Casey, 8.
