National Egyptian Folkloric Troupe Performs at 成人抖阴October 30
SALISBURY, MD---For nearly 50 years the Egyptian National Folkloric Troupe has reinterpreted traditional Egyptian dance and music, cherishing the ways of the past while moving into the future.
As part of the Salisbury University Ambassador Series, the troupe performs 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
The troupe was founded to preserve the common dance traditions of Egypt by presenting this unique art of Egyptian heritage through dance and music. Its repertoire focuses on the social dances of weddings, street fairs, and festivals throughout Egypt. These include those of the Nubians of Southern Egypt, the nomadic Bedouins of the western desert, the farmers of the Nile Delta and the city dwellers of Alexandria and Cairo. The troupe has performed in over 90 cities throughout more than 50 countries across the world.
A North African dinner is served prior to the concert at the Commons from 5-7 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $9.68, $5.95 for children 6-12, free for children 5 and under.
