Randolph Collection Photography on Display February 22-April 4

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates contemporary American photography during the exhibit The Randolph Collection, from February 22-April 4 in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall.

The photos are a gift from Mrs. Francis F. Randolph Jr. in memory of her late husband. The exhibit provides an insight as to how photographers are able to trace events from war, to social aspects of daily lives, as well as use photography as a forum for artistic expression.

The exhibit includes Sundance Film Festival nominee Shelby Lee Adams’ silver gelatin portraits of one family’s life in Appalachia. Also on display are works by James Natchwey, a self-trained photographer who has dedicated the last 20 years to the portrayal of war and conflict throughout the world. His photograph, “Iraq 2003” offers a visually evocative look at the war.

Other photographers whose works are featured include, Ann Parker Neal, who projects light through fruit, flowers, and vegetables to create images on color-sensitive paper; Greta Pratt, whose favorite subjects include small county fairs and family reunions; and pinhole photographer Marian Roth.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Admission is free and the public is invited.
