Religion and Spirituality Workshop

SALISBURY, MD --Religion and Spirituality, a professional workshop on helping families and individuals to heal, is 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the Worcester Room of the Commons on campus. Program fee is $90 per person.

Workshop objectives include increasing awareness of post-modern trends influencing the contemporary emphasis on religion and spirituality in society and social work, and integrating newer knowledge developments in the psychosocial theories of religion, spirituality, faith development and the development of God's representation within social work knowledge and values.

Presenters will be Dr. Mary Vincentia Joseph and Dr. Ann Patrick Conrad, both of American University.

Joseph is a professor emerita at the National Catholic School of Social Services at Catholic University. She has received professional recognition, including being named a Cardinal O'Boyle Faculty Scholar at American University and a visiting scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. She also received an award from the National Association of Social Workers for her service.

Conrad has also served on the faculty of the National Catholic School of Social Services at Catholic University and is an experienced agency and private clinical practitioner. She was appointed visiting researcher at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University.

She has traveled worldwide to conduct seminars and workshops designed for the continuing education of psychologists, social workers and those in related fields.

Continental breakfast and mid-day refreshments are included at the Religion and Spirituality workshop, sponsored by the 成人抖阴Department of Social Work and Center for Professional Development.
