成人抖阴Celebrates Conflict Resolution Day October 18

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Center for Conflict Resolution, which has provided 15 years of community mediation services, marks national Conflict Resolution Day with a special celebration on Thursday, October 18.

From 6-8 p.m., the Center (1100 Camden Avenue), hosts mock mediation demonstrations and informative mini-chats with local volunteer mediators about services offered to the community.  Information will also be available on training for community groups, businesses and families to help develop speaking and listening skills for better understanding.  Children’s activities include face painting, crafts and games that instill conflict resolution skills.

“Throughout the year we have worked with and learned from members of our community. Conflict Resolution Day is an opportunity to thank our community partners, celebrate our growth and teach people about the services we offer,” said Michele Ennis-Binns, director of community mediation at SU’s Center for Conflict Resolution.

Conflict Resolution Day is an international celebration held annually to increase public awareness about conflict resolution and its benefits.  “It is an excellent opportunity for Maryland residents to discover the incredible resources of mediation located right in their own communities,” said Lorig Charkoudian, executive director of Community Mediation Maryland.

SU’s Center for Conflict Resolution is home to one of 17 Community Mediation Centers across the state dedicated to resolving disputes and improving relationships between individuals in conflict. Free or low cost conflict resolution services include mediation of family, neighborhood, business and inter-personal conflicts, as well as training and public education about conflict resolution.

Research shows that community mediation saves public resources by decreasing repeat calls to the police department and decreasing the use of criminal and civil courts.

Sponsored by Community Mediation Maryland at Salisbury University’s Center for Conflict Resolution, the celebration is free and the public is invited.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information, call 410-219-2873 or visit the 成人抖阴Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
