成人抖阴Celebrates National French Week Through Nov. 10

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates National French Week with music, films, food, readings and good conversation November 3-10.

成人抖阴students Allison Buchanan and Dawn Bisson share their study abroad experiences during the talk “Studying in France” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, in Teacher Education and Technology Center (TETC) Room 154.

Dining Services’ annual French dinner is 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in the Commons. Entertainment, sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs, is provided by the Stereo Strings violin and accordion duo. Admission is $10.67, $6.48 for ages 6-12, free for children age 5 and under.

La Société Française meets 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, November 5, at Adam’s Ribs on Route 13 in Fruitland for conversation with students, faculty and Francophone friends in the community for intermediate and advanced language levels.

“An Afternoon of French Music,” sponsored by the Department of Music and the Department of Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies, is 4 p.m. Saturday, November 6 in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Dr. Arlene White of the Department of Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies speaks on the history and art of Chartres Cathedral at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 7, at St. Alban’s Church. An instructional walk of the church’s exterior labyrinth, presented by Amy Isaacs, follows.

成人抖阴French students host a marathon reading of Antoine St. Exupéry’s The Little Prince from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, in the Spirituality Center of the Guerrieri University Center.

SU’s National French Week celebration concludes Wednesday, November 10, with a screening of Bienvenue chez les Ch’Tis (Welcome to the Sticks) at 7 p.m. in TETC Room 152. The 2007 French comedy (with English subtitles) tells the story of a post office manager in southern France who tries to cheat his way into a job transfer to the French Rivera to please his wife. When his scheme is discovered, he is sent to Bergues, France’s northernmost city.

Sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies, admission to all events is free unless otherwise noted, and the public is invited.
