SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s dance class series continues with contra dancing 7 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
Contra is a social dance and an American folk tradition, formed from traditional jigs, reels and hornpipes of Scotch and Irish descent. Each dance is taught, walked through and called to live music, often with a fiddle as the lead instrument.
SU’s all-ages event features caller Perry Shafran, and musicians Mickey Justice, Brad Stevens and Meri Holden. No registration, experience or partner are necessary.
