成人抖阴Hosts Darfur Awareness Series February 15-22
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Office of Multicultural Student Services and the 成人抖阴chapter of Amnesty International host a series to raise awareness of the conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan February 15-22.
The series begins 8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, in the Gull’s Nest of the Guerrieri University Center with a “Focus on Darfur” open mic night.
成人抖阴faculty lead a panel discussion on the conflict 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall. Panelists include Dr. Phil Bosserman and Kwaku Nuamah of the Center for Conflict Resolution, Dr. Darrell Newton of the Communication and Theatre Arts Department and Dr. Kathryn Barrett-Gaines, assistant professor of African History and director of African and African-American Studies at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Screenings of a film detaining the Darfur conflict are 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, in the Scarborough Leadership Center. A discussion and letter writing campaign follow each screening.
The series concludes with a Darfur Write-a-Thon 2-9 p.m. Thursday, February 22, in the Fireside Lounge of the Guerrieri University Center. Amnesty International’s goal is to produce 1,000 letters from this and the two writing sessions held in connection with the film screenings.
