成人抖阴Hosts Kwanzaa Celebration December 8

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s annual Kwanzaa celebration is 1 p.m. Saturday, December 8, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

This year’s theme is self-determination (Kujichagulia), one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. During the celebration, organizations representing SU’s Multicultural Alliance will explore the seven principles to educate the campus and local community about the significance of each.  The ceremony will also feature songs and dances.

Visiting 成人抖阴for the celebration is Dr. Harriet Schiffer, the owner of LFS for Wonoo Ventures, a company that imports and distributes authentic woven Kente Cloth.  She will present “Kente Cloth: The Cloth of Asante Kings and Asante Culture.” Her presentation includes a display of African fashions, as well as a special contemporary exhibit of various kente cloths and information about each.

“My programs help people of color take back their history while exposing all participants to factual knowledge that generates mutual respect and goes beyond the TV sound bite,” Schiffer said.  A member of the National Council of Black Studies, the Speakers Bureau of the Association of Black Cultural Centers and the African Studies Association, she studied comparative politics and African studies at Columbia University in New York.

Sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Services and the Union of African-American Students, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call the Office of Multicultural Student Services at 410-548-4503 or visit the 成人抖阴website at www.salisbury.edu.
