成人抖阴Hosts Latin American and Spanish Film Festival March 8-April 12

ixcanulSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University showcases contemporary trends in cinema during the return of its Latin American and Spanish Film Festival Thursdays, March 8-April 12.
    
Screenings begin at 7 p.m. in Fulton Hall Room 111. (There is no film Thursday, March 22.) Films are shown in Spanish with English subtitles unless otherwise noted. Selections include:
    
March 8 – Ixcanul (Volcano) by Jayro Bustamante (France/Guatemala, 2015). A young indigenous woman does not want to live in the modern world until it saves her life during a pregnancy complication. Introduced by Dr. Louise Detwiler of the Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department.

March 15 – La Muerte de Pinochet (The Death of Pinochet) by Bettina Perut and Iván Osnovikoff (Chile, 2011). The sudden death of General Augusto Pinochet, long-time dictator of Chile, in 2006 reawakens the political divisions that marked the nation’s recent history with death and violence. Introduced by Drs. Emily Story of the History Department and Eric Rittinger of the Political Science Department.
    
March 29 – Guarani by Luis Zorraquin (Argentina/Paraguay, 2015). Wishing for a grandson to continue the culture of Paraguay’s Guarani people, Atilio embarks on a long journey across borders to convince his daughter to give birth on Guarani land. Introduced by Dr. Corinne Pubill of the Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department.
    
April 5 – Bajarí: Gypsy Barcelona by Eva Vila (Spain, 2013). This film provides a look at the intense effort, natural talent and dedicated discipline of musicians and performers who produce a professional flamenco experience. Introduced by Dr. Arnaud Perret of the Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department.
    
April 12 - El Pais del Miedo (The Country of Fear) by Francisco Espada (Spain, 2015). A peaceful man’s quiet life is shaken with a 13-year-old girl extorts him. Introduced by Dr. Sally Perret of the Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department.
