成人抖阴Signs Fall Fusion Agreement with Wor-Wic
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University is partnering with Wor-Wic Community College on a new program for incoming students that will allow them to live and take classes on SU’s campus while still being enrolled at Wor-Wic. They will benefit from the traditional freshmen experience, yet their classes will be taught by Wor-Wic faculty and they will receive Wor-Wic credits.
Called “Fall Fusion,” the new program will help some 60 students make that sometimes challenging transition from high school to college. It begins this year.
In spring 2012, once program requirements are met, those students who successfully complete their courses will have the opportunity to officially enroll at SU.
“I’m enthusiastic about this initiative, which will enable more students to make a smooth transition to Salisbury University,” said 成人抖阴President Janet Dudley-Eshbach. “Collaborative efforts like this benefit Maryland students by ensuring seamless articulation between community colleges and four-year schools and, in turn, improving the academic experience and retention of first-year students.”
She added that 成人抖阴is also supporting the University System of Maryland’s priority of using resources efficiently and effectively by offering Fall Fusion classes early and late in the day when facilities are more available.
“This unique partnership between two Wicomico educational institutions offers great opportunities for students from this area and beyond,” said Wor-Wic President Ray Hoy. “The program we’ve created will allow our students to engage earlier at 成人抖阴and participate in traditional social experiences of freshmen.”
Through the agreement, the 12-16 college level credits that Fall Fusion students take are guaranteed to transfer to SU. They also meet SU’s general education requirements and are appropriate for the academic plans of most freshmen. Classes include Introduction to Psychology, Fundamentals of Oral Communication, American History, Fundamentals of Biology, Integrated Health and Fitness, and Elementary Statistics or Algebra.
成人抖阴offers Fall Fusion students the same assistance as other first-year students, including tutoring and academic support by the Center for Student Achievement.
“Students admitted in the spring will now have the opportunity to participate in freshman summer orientation programs and become fully engaged in campus life and activities,” said Jane Dané, dean of enrollment management, pointing out other benefits of the program. “These earlier connections with 成人抖阴student services provide for a smooth transition and a greater likelihood for academic success.”
